# v5 · brush, sky sheet

v4's brush on a whiter sheet with a faint blue in it, so the paper reads like a bright page under sky light rather than cream. The texture (tooth, mottle, grain, vignette) is v4's at the same strengths; only the hues moved.

## What changed from v4

- Base paper `#f1ece2` (cream) → `#f6f8fc` (white with a trace of blue); the deep tone follows (`#e6ebf2`).
- The lighting lost its warm cast: the central highlight is near-white, the diagonal shade and the vignette are cool (navy at 5 to 9 %) instead of brown.
- The mottle's tint in `paper.js` went from warm (0.35, 0.30, 0.25) to cool (0.30, 0.33, 0.38), so the fibre density reads bluish-grey under multiply instead of tea-stained.
- The ink's soak halo is a cool near-black (`#262b36`) instead of brown: black marker on white paper bleeds grey-blue, not sepia.
- Chrome text and rules are cool dark instead of warm dark. The ink itself is unchanged (`#15141a`), as are the writing engine, the brush and every timing.

## Why

The owner (2026-10-22): "I really like the V4 brush effect ... change the color of the paper background ... instead of the yellowish, more like whiter, but if any color or hue bluish, so it feels more like you're in the clouds, in a blue sky, but very subtle on the blue. and retain the texture."

## What it cannot do yet

- Same limits as v4: the dab is a stamp, not a fluid simulation, and the finished line follows the centreline, not the photo's exact silhouette.
- The blue is one fixed tint; there is no sky gradient or drifting cloud light. If "in the clouds" wants more than a tint, the next step is a soft cloud-shaped highlight field, not more blue in the base.
